'Robert Burns in Edinburgh' by Jerry Brannigan and John McShane is a magnificent 208 page full-colour guide to Burns' associations with the capital city, arranged by areas and districts, streets and buildings.
With its walking maps and practical information about venues, it is aimed mainly at the visitor to Edinburgh.
However, its wellwritten short essays and concise pen portraits make it of more general interest.
The book is enhanced by excellent design with illustrations and contemporary drawings by David Alexander, a renowned graphic novel illustrator from Glasgow.
